Magnolia Bakery is one of the most well known bakeries that hails from Manhattan, New York and is uber famous for its cupcakes. Known to be the cupcake institution! It all started from West Village neighborhood of Manhattan and has made its mark selling the most mouth-watering desserts all over the world now. With presence in more than 12 countries Magnolia Bakery is much loved for its comfy ambience and a major sweet-tooth fix!
I was passing by the place and decided to quickly grab a coffee and a cookie combo as there was a deal going on. I had my camera along and I spontaneously decided to review the bakery!
The setting comes across as cottage chic with quaint details and mint green being the dominant colour, accompanied by other pastel colours. How could I skip Mint Greeen(that really cannot happen)?!! Mintberrydubai… that is some obsession with that color!?! The wooden tables and marble table tops with ornate black legs make it for a cozy and an admirable setting. I could honestly, keep staring at the details all time long if time wasn’t a constraint.
This is the most important section of the cafe that houses the world famous cupcakes and other desserts.
*Back in the day the bakery began making cupcakes with leftover cake batter, and the cupcakes subsequently became very popular with customers. A little insight to the cupcake story at Magnolia Bakery!
I ordered a cappuccino and a chocolate chip cookie! They use Illy coffee to make their coffees on order and it tasted like typical Illy coffee except the size! The cookie tasted great and I liked the fact that it was slightly moist and not very crunchy. The chocolate chunks were the best part! It tasted fresh out of the oven.
They can also cater to gluten free requests if any! A huge plus for those with gluten free requirements.
This is what its all about! The signature RED VELVET CUPCAKE … with whipped vanilla icing and sweetened cream cheese icing. I think I’m more inclined towards the whipped vanilla icing. Droool!!!
About my experience:
I decided to speak to one of the staff and introduced myself and got talking about doing a review for the bakery! He was quite supportive and allowed me to take photographs too. The rest of the staff behind the till came across cold, the moment I walked in and like they were doing me a favor. I kind off got slightly put off with their cold behaviour and decided to continue taking pictures for the review. After getting click happy and given the benefit of doubt, I decided to speak to one of the staff that looked like he was responsible for all the baking that took place. I asked him a few questions about the bakery and just like a blogger would normally want to know a little extra to pen down. While he started to explain and got me quite intrigued, a lady behind the counter told him not to go ahead and explain any further(in sign language, I guess, as my back was facing her) and he had to leave the conversation in the middle and attend her. A big thumbs down for that!!
I will visit a different branch sometime soon to have the cupcakes and I look forward to a delightful experience! All in all its a great place to chit-chat and have a good time over coffee with your loved ones and don’t forget to indulge a little more than usual…its totally worth it!
What I liked:
1. Taste and the quality of food and beverage was great
2. Menu selection was sufficient
