We have all (or atleast most of us) been using products from L’oreal over the years and since we first noticed them in our mum’s makeup collection. The ages long association and brand awareness has been ever since and more so with their spectacular range of lipsticks. L’oreal was introduced back in 1985(woah..I wasn’t even born then) and have had 360 shades in their lipstick portfolio till date, out of which 30 are in the current range. They have released 13 new brilliant shades in 2015. L’oreal has one for everyone from red hues to pinks to corals and nudes they have covered it all. From textures that are creamy, satin and matte which are highly preferred these days in the modernistic world of beauty.
While shopping at Boots Pharmacy recently, I stumbled upon this fabulous colour from the L’oreal Colour Riche Collection in 144 Ouhlala…and I knew, I was going love it by the looks of it. After swatching it I couldn’t help, but buy it. That was some urge..really!! I’m super happy with the splurge… not complaining at all!
Texture: It has a buttery matte finish and feels extremely soft on the lips. Almost like you forget your even wearing anything on your lips.
Colour: Intense colour and stands true to its name – colour riche, its hydrating and has a neon undertone. The rest of the colours in the range are absolutely fabulous as well. I was quite inclined towards buying the coral and nude ones too.
Longevity: The lipsticks last really long and do not smudge. It can take more that 2-3 makeup removing pads to get rid of the stain. Which also means that they are highly pigmented.
Packaging: L’oreal being a durgstore brand, the packaging is immaculate and on-point for all the products. The lovely golden casing provides a luxurious feel and has the brand logo engraved on the lipstick. The colour and the number is mentioned on the bottom of the lipstick for easy notice and knowing what your exactly looking for if you have a line up.
Moving on to the next bit … the L’oreal Colour Riche Pure Red Collection – JLO
When it comes to RED I think I’m quite picky if I may say. It has to be matte, soft, pigmented and should glide on really well. Not very particular about the blue undertone as for a warm skin tone it can get pretty tricky. But with this one I totally pulled it off. It is one of my favourite go to reds lately and totally WORTH IT.
The L’oreal Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Pure Reds are limited edition lip hues that have each lipstick associated with the L’oreal Paris brand ambassadors from Jeniffer Lopez, Blake Lively, Eva Longoria, Frieda Pinto, Julianne Moore, Doutzen Kroes and Zoe Saldana. Each lipstick is designed to match the skin tone of the L’oreal spokesperson. I literally swatched every lipstick more out of utter curiosity and ended up purchasing Pure Red in JLO. Nothing stands out much as gorgeous red lip hue.
Texture: Matte and velvety finish. Typically feels baby soft on the lips and glides on beautifully.
Colour: Deep red and has a blue undertone. Perfect for fair to neutral undertones or slightly warm.
Longevity: Stays on throughout the day. It does not smude or flake and stains pretty much as its highly pigmented. Gorgeous finish indeed! Prep up the lip for a lasting finish.
Packaging: It comes in a classy matte black casing with a golden high shine interior. Has the brand logo engraved on the lipstick. I absolutely love the fact that it has the celebrity name mentioned on the packaging with their signature. Quite a feel good factor and a stunning possession considering its a signature and a limited collection.
Price Point: It is pretty affordable for the price it retails at and is totally worth the price.
Go bold, don the red lip hue and make a statement this season!!! I’m totally obsessing over these gorgies and totally recommend them. With valentines just around the corner this probably can be your perfect buy! When it comes to Valentines its always about pinks and reds!
