Hello loves, I’m quite excited to share my review on the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipsticks and it has been due for a week or two now. With the festivities in full swing, get togethers and parties I barely had time to sit down and pen down the review, although I had enough time to test out these lipsticks as I wore them to quite a few parties. And that question did follow…. what lipstick are you wearing? I was asked this almost 5-10 times . I love the entire range of Bourjois and as far as I can remember my love for Bourjois started with their eye pencils and I have not looked back ever since. If you have been reading my earlier posts by now you would know that I’m a Paris ‘addict’
may be an understatement! Anything to do with Paris… bring it on!! It is a special bond and I can’t emphasize enough on that. Surprisingly, it works like magic with the brands as well.
I love visiting the Bourjois counter at the Boots Pharmacy and I’m always on the look out of whats new and that’s exactly how I stumbled upon the stunning Rouge Edition Velvet Collection. Honestly, all the shades were so tripping good, it took me way too long to zero down on two to start with. sigh! The texture stays true to its name ‘Velvet’ and my all means its extremely buttery, velvety smooth on the lips. It nourishes the lips instantly and doesn’t dry out even after the entire day. You can probably take a dip with it and it still won’t move. The lipsticks are highly pigmented which is the best part and you can build up the coverage to flaunt that pout. The results are pretty much visible with the first swatch. I usually like to build up the coverage as I like the colour to show pretty much like it does on the packaging. The lipstick does not tend to smudge no matter what you try to do… i’ll leave that for you to decide 😛 !! The best part – these stains stain … and like really stain. It took atleast 3-4 makeup removing pads to get rid of the stain. Not complaining here as I would rather take time to remove it than touching up every now and then!
For a fair idea and to test out the colors I decided to buy one in nude that is – Happy Nude Year and the other in – Pink Pong. For an office/work wear look I would highly recommend using Happy Nude Year … it is a gorgeous pinkish peachish shade. As far as Pink Pong is concerned its the perfect fuchsia color that you can relate to. Its bold, its gorgeous and it stands out! Perfect for an evening look!
Rouge Edition Velvet comes in absolutely brilliant shades and I only wish I could buy them all. The packaging is on-point and is extremely easy to apply with the applicator that intern provides precision. The applicator is easy to hold and work your way through the application. For a build up cover I would suggest waiting for two minutes before applying the second coat. You can apply as many coats as you like and it won’t get messy and flaky! Overall I totally adore the packaging from the entire range of Bourjois and this is no exception.
