Hello Gorgiesss! This post is going to be raining Givenchy makeup products from their f/w’15 line. I have been wanting to write about these products ever since I got my hands on them, at the Givenchy event in association with Glambox, where they revealed the brand new fragrance launch by Givenchy – ‘Live Irresistible’. It is an addition to the already existing perfume range ‘Very Irresistible’ launched in 2003. If you have missed my post on the perfume review then you can click here and enjoy reading in depth about the stunning Parisian number.
Moving on to the first product from the makeup line – Prisme Quatuor in Braise. This is a gorgeous addition to the already existing 8 shades from the quad palette squad and this is a perfect palette for fall/winter. The colors are OH-SO-FALL and I have this urge to walk down the streets in France and get the opportunity to dress up in fall colors and make up that is on-point… (umm … already missing Paris). The packaging is spot on, with a luxe finish and attention to detail like all other Givenchy products. The quad palette comes with 2 eyeshadow applicators and the colors are great to carry off a day time to a night time look. The texture is velvety smooth with a hint of shine/metallic finish, which wears on extremely well for a long duration provided, you spray your brush with a makeup setting spray or even an eye primer before the application. If you like a sheer or an understated coverage then you can go ahead and wear the eyeshadow straight away as it wears on beautifully either ways. The fall out is bare minimum.
Moving on to my next favorite from the line – Le Rouge lipstick in 202 Rose Dressing. This is luxury on your lips and it took me a second to fall in love with this gorgeous coral pink hue. It certainly is the first lipstick range launched, that comes in a chic leather packaging thats another dimension to the already luxurious texture of the lipstick. In all honesty, I think this is one colour that would look stunning on anyone. The texture is semi-matte with a slight glossy finish and yes, it totally stays on even when you decide to sip/eat and indulge, hence, no constant re-application required there. It is a perfect glide-on and feels buttery smooth on the lips and does the work really well as its quite pigmented. A great all year around shade. You can rock on a day time office look or perhaps, don it for a date night or party even. I’ve always had an inclination towards coral and for me this totally fits the bill.
Heading on the next item – Noir Couture Volume Mascara in Black Satin. In true sense of the word ‘Black Satin’ is a gorgeous pigmented black colour that perfectly adds that extra bit for volume, texture and does not tend to flake. The keratin formula on the silica-micro beads and the rice peptides nourish and strengthen the lashes . Every girl likes having voluminous lashes and this does exactly that. The bristles have an interesting detail as the top is thin and the bottom bristles are a bit thicker, which in turn help you achieve a gorgeous volume and definition. The inverted mini rock stud feel on the case is a mark of luxury and sophistication. Great detailing there!
The last item in line is the Magic Kohl Eyeliner Pencil in Black. If you are a pencil eyeliner lover then this one is a perfect add on to your makeup collection. I like the soft finish it has, which is perfect for a day time look and can be layered on for a night time look as well. For the most part I like smudging the ends for that sultry, smokey eye effect which looks stunning and perhaps a thicker lower lash line for a more statement-like glamourous look. The texture is pretty rich and stays on for long hours and doesn’t tend to smudge. For a more dramatic look, you can smudge the upper lash line into a faded wing which adds an interesting element to the entire look. The liner tends to glide-on easily and works well without much effort going in.
