Mary-Lou Manizer, The Balm Highlighter Review

The Balm Highlighter – Mary Lou Manizer

I have to admit that I totally adore the products from TheBalm and for the most part its the packaging which makes me wanna splurge. It comes in a retro themed packaging and quite similar to the packaging by Benefit Cosmetics which requires a moment of its own.
I had been on a look out for a highlighter for quite sometime and TheBalm like always, had trapped me by the gorgeousness of its products and something that you can’t miss while strolling in a Mall. And, if it is makeup I find it so hard not to check out the products each time.

Highlighters seem to be an add on to the already countless amount of makeup steps in the course of a makeup and this one certainly, for many is the icing on the cake. Some can’t live without and some can’t care enough to wear it on. I think I can’t live without this one ever since I’ve bought it. It has been a week and I’m only hooked on to it more and more by the day. It lifts my face up after sleepless nights and makes my skin look fresh and radiant without me having to work much with my skin. The best part: my friends absolutely loved it and have bought it for themselves too!!! 😀 yay!
Moving on to the highlighter/luminizer, It is a champagne colored shimmery-buttery powder and extremely pigmented. This is the colour that I was on a look out for as I think it goes perfect with my skin tone and I personally don’t have a liking towards pinkish or bronzish colored ones. It’s a tad on the yellow side but I’ll still consider it more champagne coloured like. It is quite subtle but if you require more you can keep building it up slowly and gradually and it still won’t look tacky with chunky glitter on your cheek bones. The texture is brilliant and works effortlessly on the skin.

Application: I use it to apply with a smaller brush or even a contour brush from Real Techniques that does the work perfectly well. I use it on the high points of my face where the light would reflect, on the brow bone and as an eyeshadow.

As it says on the packaging:

Item: Mary-Lou Manizer
Retailer: Debenhams Middle east
Price: AED140
Rating: 4.5
Weight: 8.5g

If you’re on a lookout for a pinkish highlighter TheBalm stocks it in Cindy-Lou Manizer which is a gorgeous subtle highlighter/shadow as well.
