Studio Sculpt – Mac
Today I decided to review two foundations and the 1st being M.A.C. Studio Scuplt is one of my current favorites. I know its an oldie but it works amazingly well on my skin which is more on the dry end. I was initially suggested to buy the studio sculpt upfront but I’am usually quite hesitant to splash on the spot for foundations as I like to experiment with it on my skin, the feel of it, whether or not I tend to break out with it, or does it oxidize my skin after a while. So, I did get sample of the foundation and it din’t take me too long to get hooked to it.
I think its a fabulous foundation if you have a combination to dry skin. It comes in a 40m tube which is very convenient to use and travel with.
A little amount goes a long way and it has a medium/full coverage, and if you decide to build on by all means, go ahead! With this foundation I skip applying my concealer as this works very well on dark spots/ under eyes and if I require more coverage I keep building it up.
It does not cake up if you apply a primer underneath and a hydrating mist after the makeup. It stays on till you decide to remove it and I can vouch for that.
Eva Longoria has worn Studio Sculpt at the YWCA 2013 Women of Distinction Awards :).
Coverage – You can feel that the is weight slightly heavier than some of the other foundations, well, that is because of the studio perfect look that it guarantees. It is water-resistant as well.
Skin – Works well for normal to dry skin.
Benefits – Instantly feels radiant, hydrated and moisturized. It lifts the face up and hugs on to the skin giving an airbrush finish.
Hang on – You gotta wait for it to settle in as it takes a bit longer than other foundations to dry. I usually leave it on for a few minutes before I go ahead and apply any further makeup. Meanwhile, I tend to have a coffee or prance about – killing time(few minutes).
SPF – Contains SPF 15.
Application – I use it with the Real Techniques buffing brush or the Beauty Blender for perfect application. Apply a setting powder for long lasting results.
Warm tint – Be careful with this one as it may or may not tend to settle in a bit warmer or orangish after a while due to the gel formula so you might want to try it on for a few days before you decide to buy it. I personally don’t mind a shade warmer than my skin tone as it gives a healthy glow. But, obviously its personal preference there.
Shades – I use it in the shade NC 37. It is available in 21 shades.
Packaging – It comes in tube which is easy to use and is unbreakable which also makes it handy to travel with.
Alternatives – Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation for full coverage is a great alternative.

Moving on to the next foundation ….
Makeup Forever HD Foundation
This has come across as a very controversial foundation where in some have liked it to being their cult favorites and some have not liked it at all. For me personally it has been a very significant foundation because I wore it on the most special day of my life and I call it my ‘Wedding Foundation’ :).
My skin is dry and I have mentioned this many times before. This foundation works well for me as it provides moisture to the skin instantly which is due to its silicon and water formula.
Why wedding foundation? – MakeupForever HD Foundation glides on seamlessly on to the skin and is extremely easy to blend in. You don’t have to work your way too hard to get the perfect finish.
It has a dewy – satin finish and that is exactly what I wanted for my wedding look. I did not want something that cakes up, looks obvious and reflects back on flash photography. This foundation is known be the top favorites of the celebrity artists as its absolutely camera friendly and contains micro-pigments that are devised for HD television. It remains invisible in real life and on-screen hands down.
Coverage – It is a medium to a buildable coverage foundation and covers the dark spots/ blemishes well.
Skin – Normal – dry or normal – combination skin
Benefits – It has skin care benefits as it treats the skin when applied due to its moisturizing properties.
SPF – It does not contain SPF hence, its perfect to be used where you might get photographed
Application – It can be applied flawlessly with a brush/sponge/beauty blender or even your finger tips. For those who have an oily T-zone I recommend using powder after the application to mattify the shine.
Shades – It is available in a 25 shades so you can’t go wrong with selecting the right color for your skin tone. You can mix two colors if required to get the perfect shade. I use it in the shade 123.
Packaging – It comes in a transparent plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. It easily fits into the makeup bag.
Alternatives – Revlon PhotoReady Foundation is a perfect dupe and is available in 12 shades.
